Can anyone recommend the names of online opticians please? This subject came up a couple of years ago here. I used the service and it was great but can't remember the address.

Husband used a company last year called Specs on the net, Cardiff.
Pair of tinted varifocals, cost £60 delivered.

Just out of interest - how do on line suppliers get round the problem of you not being there to measure the exact position of your eyes?  Opticians measure how far apart your eyes are (particularly important with varifocals) and also adjust the frames and nose clips to suit.

I had used them several times before my cataract ops and found them cheap reliable and quick to deliver !!

I Can recommend them!! No Finacial interest in them though!!

When you get your prescription you enter the details on their online form they quote a price and you pay and they send your glasses out. You have to use a uk address or did. I only have mild a prescription but last time it cost me 17£ in total. Frames lenses and postage.

Have a look at www.glassesdirect.co.uk ; they have lots of choices at low prices and quite a few are two pairs for the price of one. You can load your prescription on the website and they are made up and sent to you.
