For anyone who is interested, the Royal Institution Christmas Lectures start tonight at 9pm (local time) on BBC4.

Although they are principally aimed at children, I find them absolutely fascinating.

The lecturer totally missed the plot with his final round up! saying that bigger animals with bigger hearts live longer, its not what size you are but how fast your heart beats and who can predate you!! example Elephant and Tortoise both live long 90 plus years but are way different in size their hearts just beat slower!!
