Official State Bulletin on Monday, The cabinet today decided to delay the increase until September 1. Part of the reason for the delay is so as not to affect this summer’s tourist season.

It has now been announced that some items are changing IVA rates; glasses and contact lenses, cinema, hairdresser, discotheques, theatre, health products, funerals and cleaning services will move from 8% to 21%.

In 2013 the tax deduction for your main dwelling will be cancelled, and in addition the special type of IVA which is charged on house sales will go from 4% to 10%.

So there you have it the few bob you have made on the recent exchange rate will be gobbled up by the taxman.  Cry

The tax changes are (Taken from Spanish press)
