Perhaps the social economy is the way forward. Known as the third way .u is of the people by the people for the people, and a legal business/charity model in Europe. Hmm more a legal way to divert money away from the state and to the people that earned it and the communities in which they live. Google it . Europe are even offering grant aid to such projects. But yes we are also very fond of trees and animals you too I  bet!
