Whoo!
About two years ago, we saw big lorries, near Tres Cales/Calafat area, which had been blown from one side of the road to the other and were on their sides, in scrubland there.

I have nearly 35 years experience of driving tall trucks like this one long distance and regularly had to drive in strong winds.

If you get caught in strong winds, SLOW DOWN. The slower you drive, the more stable the vehicle becomes (regardless of what the vehicle is). Just drive slower - a LOT slower. It works, believe me, and it could save lives.

Side winds especially have a tendency to hit you like a sledge hammer and come out of nowhere just when you least expect them.

It's better to arrive late than not at all.   Smiley
