Some major airports in Spain are to start charging passengers, for using luggage trolleys.
This includes Barcelona El Prat airport.
One euro per trolley.

Makes sense to me. It's amazing how many just get dumped in the carparks because people can't be bothered to return them to the collection points leaving others struggling with bags when they can't find one.

I agree abandoning the trolleys is out of order and putting a returnable coin slot is fine but that isn't what they are doing. The coins non refundable. It's just another airport tax. Manchester airport were doing this last time I was there.

So if you have room in the car an abandoned trolley is worth shoving in the boot for dismantling once you get home.  Think of it as a tax return!!!  Grin

Yes,i also noticed you had to pay for the trolley at Luton Airport recently.I just put that one down to "Rip Off Britain"   Sad

My dad and I did that with a garden centre plant trolley when I was a kid. "Dont tell your mum" he said....so I did.
