Marks & Spencer are hoping to return to Spain, after selling to El Corte Ingles, 14 years ago.
At the moment they are looking at coming to Madrid and Barcelona.

That's nothing, according to the Times, Greggs, Britains largest bakery, is opening an outlet in Lidl in Amposta. It's a pilot scheme and if successful will be rolled out through the rest of Spain and possibly France.

It closed because it was decided that the foreign stores weren't making enough money or even losing money and had to go.  Not so much a comment about that particular store - just a general decision which is under review at the moment as expansion abroad looks attractive again.
