Payment of back taxes on car

Has anyone had to pay impuestos (taxes) owing on a car registered in another region, ie Girona?  How is this done without travelling there?  At Reus my friend was told he would have to go to Girona!

Try checking with Base office first. They may be able to help or advise you there.
Otherwise it may mean paying in Girona.

Vehicle tax is a municipal tax not a state tax therefore it is paid in the area you live at the the time. Therefore it would follow that this car owes money to Girona in order they maintain the roads this vehicle used.Remember there will be interest added to each unpaid annual bill.

All BASE are connected now should be able to pay taxes at any office.

Many thanks to all, will get down to the Base office.  Hard to find online details for them but at least I know where they're based in Tortosa.
