The forecast above predicts about 40k/h until Friday.  I'm not a meteorologist but if this is 40k/h then I'm a Dutchman (apologies to any cloggies out there).  Shocked

I have a proper anemometer and I recorded 78kph at 7.05 this morning. My house is very exposed  being built on a ridge 1000 ft above sea level. It's supposed to last until the weekend. The wind that is, not my house  Wink

We had 84 kph on our Davis kit at 11.54 today - highest for years.  Interesting too are the prolonged gusts (if you see what I mean), several minutes at around 50-60 kph, whereas 60 has been an extreme puff hithertobefore (huh?) during this month.  January was quiet though.

No it's not melt wáter. There is massive flooding upstream in Zaragosa and Castejón and so to prepare for the arrival of the wáter they are emptying the resevoirs at Mequinenza and Riba Roja. The melt comes next and will be significant this year.

As Nigel stated in his post, there are terrible floods, from Navarra to Aragon now.
The motorway from Pamplona to Aragon has been closed.
Anyone wanting to travel should check first.

What a joy to walk with my dogs this morning without having a force ten gale in my face. One feels life is so much better. How quickly we forget the last 10 days. Cheesy I now just need to retrieve my washing and sunbeds from the next village  Grin Grin
