Attended  the wok Amposta today for lunch and it was awful, almost cold food and very poor choice in comparison to times gone by. They appear to be running on a shoestring now. Still managed to pack away a little nosebag but such a shame one would in the summer always recommend the venue to visitors but not any more.  Sad

I was there today as well at just after 1pm.  I wonder if it was you at the next table to me ?  I was with a young Catalan friend about halfway along on the right by the isle next to the cutlery counter.  I sadly agree with your assessment.  I wonder if it's under new management as I didn't see any of the usual waiting staff.

This used to be a 'favourite' when family and friends came to stay with us.
But we too, found that it had gone downhill and didn't go there at all last year.

Hi Bigyin. We were there about 2.30pm near the door the place was nearly empty maybe we caught the last of the food as a tray of chicken was spread out with large gaps to make it look more than it actually was (Just brought by the staff) On other visits the food table was groaning under the weight of offerings. Only about three members of staff and a guy manning the wok.  Shocked I will not be attending again. Anyone been to the new one near the Corona Hotel ?

Yes, went to the new buffet near Corona, last year just after they opened up there.
Food and desserts on offer were very similar to the one in
Amposta. Good choice.
Could choose food and ask for it to be cooked freshly aswell.
Will try it again sometime.

Us, Brits like our food hot.
Catalan and Spanish seem to eat their food warm.
Once when we went to Amposta I complained about the food being on the cold side.
I was told that I had the choice, eat what was on offer, or choose food, then hand to a chef, and have it Freshly cooked and hot! Also they had a mircrowave there to reheat food.

Another thing that baffles me is that even in the "better" restaurants, they seldom warm the plates which doesn't help.
A local friend told me that it's not in their psyche to complain.

We cook mostly at home now, very disappointed in the restaurants arround here ,things have deteriated too many short cuts taken, & now they are more expensive than previously, they are simply not worth it.

I have been using this one for years and have never had a reason to complain

Bunter, I was in there last Friday and the only drink I had was water!  The food was marvellous and HOT.  For once I wasn't greedy and only had 6 plates full.
But I have no idea what the place is called. I must have looked once........maybe 😎😎😎

Just looked it up on street view and it goes by the name of 'Wok Restaurant Asia'.  Do they do the usual buffet routine?
