Hello.
Dont be tempted to install a cheap wind turbine as sold via ebay.
I can recommend  a spanish make.
Cleck out www.bornay.com.
The company is in Castalla, inland of Alicante.
The factory when I visited was/is wind powered

The wind here is very strong, gusty and seems to come from all directions. I can't recall how many broken wind turbines I've seen but a lot!

I always recommend extra solar panels instead of a wind turbine but if you must have one get a vertical one, not a 'traditional' horizontal one as they are not susceptible to the violent changes in wind direction.

Please ignore the advice to get a 'Vertical one'. They do not give a decent output. Why are the commercial turbines horizontal ? Because they give an output in wind. The vertical ones look nice but they are a gimmick.

Got to agree with Nigel. I've taken down a lot more wind turbines than I've put up. We took ours down because it was too noisy. The power comes at odd times, usually when you don't need it. Solar is the way to go and will give you much more energy for the same cost. Remember that a 1kw wind turbine will give you that for less than 1% of the time. 1kw of solar will give you that for average 6 hours each day.

The clue is DAY, there's 24hrs in one, no sun at night, you have to get all you can for free. I had one up in Gandesa Chinese for 8 years and as far as I know its still up, put it up right and it'll stay up, maintain it often.
Terry.
