Called into local Town Hall this morning, to get an extended burning licence.
Old one ran out yesterday!
New one takes us up to June 14th.

What is this licence?
You are not allowed to barbecue outside without licence?  Shocked

This is for having any bonfires here.
You get them from local Town Hall, Adjuntament.
Very important, with rules, and the dates when you can have them.
If it gets windy, you receive a message on your phone telling you not to have one.

Cheers
I have noticed in December lots bonfires all over the place.
Is the licence valid all year round or some months are excluded?

Only issued for certain months and days.
No fires during Summer months.
All rules etc. are stated clearly on the licence.

The burning season is roughly October to March to encompass the olive harvest/pruning period.

...And to avoid the highly dangerous summer period... In theory at least!  Many of the dreadful wildfire blazes in the past have been put down to unauthorised out-of-season fires by farmers or campers.

And I believe that there are rules about bbq's in the campo having to have chimneys to take the sparks away.
