This past weekend there was a vote by the residents of Tortosa on removing the memorial to the Battle of the Ebro that is in the middle of the river near the old bridge.

Some in Spain seem to want to erase and/or re-write history - sounds a bit like the Ministry of Truth in George Orwells 1984 - worth reading if you haven't.

Fortunately common sense prevailed and 68.36% voted in favour of it remaining.
