I have noticed in the last few days a number of new speed limit signs have popped up along the N340 going from El Perrio towards Amposta they now show 80 instead of 100 km per hour. Just keep your eye out for plod in their unmarked seat make of car. Mounted in the passager seat is a speed camera. I think this is all part of the ploy to get those dreaded trucks to use the AP7. The new roundabouts have slowed the traffic somewhat this speed thing must be part of the cunning plan. 

We have noticed this as well, so we kept to the 80 limit and the lorry behind us was not a happy bunny. Kept coming up behind flashing his lights , hooter blaring. Then he even tried to overtake us and run us off the road. So we had to speed up to get away from him. not happy at all.

Further to this - with the stretch of N340 between L'Ampolla & L'Aldea now having double white lines in the middle of the road, it is illegal to cross them.
So no turning left onto the N340 - a fine of €80 may come your way. Friends of mine have collected one such fine.

I just had a word with my man on the inside and he agrees it's all a ploy to get the trucks off the N340 and plod will be creating road blocks near L'Ametla to further disrupt traffic,They had one yesterday. In 2 years the AP7 will be toll free and they want the big traffic to get over on that road as soon as.
