ALL SORTED NOW. I'm looking for some metal poles, old scaffolding type to use as sleeving for water pipes under my drive. anything over 2m in length.

What's wrong with red electric conduit? Cheap and flexible. It won't compress providing it's a reasonable depth below the surface.  If you have a real stoney drive then that's something else as it will be difficult to dig much depth.
The water companies don't use metal tubing. In fact they don't use anything!! That's why they have so many leaks and keep having to dig up the road. They could learn a lot from the French.

I've used left over 40mm water pipe for my conduits under the tracks.
The one with the 5 or 6mm wall. Used it for water, electric cables and even a hosepipe.
Easier and probably cheaper than, say, scaffolding poles or galvanised 2m chainlink fence posts.
