Every time I open the Forum I see another advert by people who just want to sell things.  I was an early member on here and I am sorry but it is no longer a source of useful information, now being nothing more than a regular market place for traders. If they must sell through the forum then they should be paying for advertising in the left hand column instead of classifying their items as personal sales,  I am sorry Nigel that you have let it become like this but I for one will no longer be viewing this apology for a forum.  Tony

I personally find the forum a very useful
Source of information where people need
Advice and give advice through their own
Experience and knowledge and passing it on
Also what is going on in the local area.
I have bought one or two bits and
Sold a few bits so for me the forum works .
So thanks Nigel and everyone that contributes
Towards the forum

Tony, sorry to see you leaving us.
Just out of interest, there are a total of 23059 posts on this forum of which 53 are items for sale.
Not that high of a percentage.
There are a couple of people who are having a bit of a clear out and most things that are advertised seem to sell, so must be needed by others. I would call this a service.
We would all love to see more contributions of information about what is going on around the area etc.
So instead of leaving how about posting the type of information that, with your amount of experience, would benefit us all.

Sorry to hear that you are leaving the Forum, Tony.
It is always to keep everyone happy, but things went to pot, after an auction was allowed to take place on here a few years ago.
Meanwhile keep well.

Most people are sharing their info/questions/sales etc on local Facebook pages these days. I don't often post here anymore but will still answer questions if I have relevant info. I still check the forum everyday along with those other pages. It seems odd to me that the response to poor content is to walk away instead. That will only make the situation worse surely. This site is old and running on old software and this makes it difficult for some people to use. How many times do we see "can't figure how to post pics" comments? If you prefer getting your info/buying selling a different way that's fine but why knock the service you get instead of helping improve it...
Also, Judging the forum on past behaviour...it is what it is now. Use it or lose it.
This is not a personal attack on anyone just some points of view. X

Thank you Deago
Sometimes it’s easy for us ‘old boys’ to forget how difficult it was when we first came over. There is so much to find out and learn.

We find the forum useful as we still live mainly in England and it keeps us informed of changes to local government, what the police are or aren't doing, weather, fires, fiestas and all. Many thanks keep it going
