Do we know of anywhere that will sell logs/firewood by volume rather than weight ?
Thanks.

Interesting question. You mean like by the cubic metre? It's the usual way of selling logs in France but here, particularly in Catalunya, it's the norm to price it per kilo. I'd be interested to know if yoi do find a seller by volume.
Good luck! Wink

Yes.  If you were buying a tonne of sand, you would expect it occupy about 1 cubic meter but a cubic meter of logs would only weigh about a quarter of a tonne (depending on dryness), so if they only quote a price/kilogram and they haven't got a weigh bridge, it's hard to know if you're getting ripped or not.

For dry hardwood logs (almond/olive) the weight of a cubic meter is about 500 KG. And if they charge you for price/kilogram without a weight bridge they must be able to tell you how they measure your order. If not then you are certainley getting ripped.

Good luck,
Mark
