The UK and Spanish Governments have signed a treaty that secures the rights of British and Spanish citizens to stand and vote in local elections in each other’s countries after the UK leaves the EU.

To be eligible to vote you must be registered (empadronado) before 31st January 2019 for the 2019 elections and then for a minimum of 3 years for any further elections (the next are 2023).
