If you live in the Roquetes area then you are invited to a talk (I believe in English) by the Ajuntament on the health and social services provided by the Ajuntament.

Topics include:
- Official documentation needed to show residency and residency requirements
- Registering with the Ajuntament as a resident of Roquetes
- The health system - what cover you receive free/paid and requirements for pensioners and non-pensioners
- Emergencies
- Social services
- Housing
- Rubbish collection
- Schooling
- Care of dependent people
- Building permission
- Burning permission (fire licence)

The meeting is taking place the 27th May (next Monday) at 19:30 in the health centre in the centre of Roquetes (by the canal).

Sounds interesting.
Maybe other villages and Ajuntaments will offer talks, in the future aswell.

That meeting would have been brilliant for us to go to. Is it something that will happen again or just a one off? I saw your message just now and have absolutely no chance of getting there on a one day notice. We are interested in a house in Roquetes and that would have been a golden opportunity for us.

I am hoping to go along to the meeting, although we don't actually live in Roquetes itself.  But we are on the doorstep.
Hoping to get some useful information, which maybe Nigel or I can pass on to people like yourselves.

@Ritaratbag I´m looking over any possibility to get to the meeting, just because it would be enourmously valuable to us. I don´t think I will manage but haven´t really given up yet. However, if you plan to go there and would be so kind to leave any informationon what the meeting was all about it would be a much appreciated thing to do. :)

Also, I think it is a smart thing of Roquetes to do, and I interpret the effort as exactly that, an effort? I mean it must be considered positive to open up for information in English? To open up to a dialogue? Or am I over interpreting the meaning of the meeting? :P

Shame it wasn't thought about and didn't happen years ago, when so may foreigners moved into the area.
Most seem to be moving, either, back to their home country,
or other regions of Spain, at the moment.
