best places to eat

We will be over there in 2 weeks time and would like to find out the best places to eat in and around Tortosa. Any ideas welcome.

There's an alright chinese on the Corona roundabout and a few more in the town,there is a good Italian at the side of Lidl (not cheap but good),try the local villages bars,you'll be pleasantly surprised at the quality and the price.....For basic but great Catalan food try the truck stops but dont over dress......

Well you're not far from Xerta so try out Cam Roger (see other post).

If you like Tapas then try Pica Pica in Plaza de Espaņa (in the same square as the Ajuntament).

Thanks for the advice. Does anyone know where the kebab shop is in Tortosa? Is it a sit-in or a carry-out?

Ahhh !!!! the elusive house of Kebab,it has been sighted but exactly where remains a mystery to many.It is believed to be lurching somewhere between the indoor market and the gun shop near the bridge.

Ok, let's solve the mystery of the Kebab Shop - I drove past it tonight and made a mental note of where it was.

It's actually located in Carrer del Bisbe Aznar  
http://www.tortosaforum.com/info/KebabShop.html - should show you where.

Directions:
1. When in Tortosa..
Go down Av. de la Generalitat towards the old bridge.  Instead of bearing round to the left to go over the bridge, go straight on. It's in the 3rd street on your left.

2. From Bitem. Go towards Tortosa.  BEFORE the bridge turn left just before Plaza Paiolet.  It's in this street on your left hand side.

Mystery solved?? I hope so!

Well.. there are a few chairs and tables inside - but looks more of a carry out than an eat in - don't expect a restaurant atmosphere - more like a Mac Donalds!  I'll try and take a photo to add to the pictures.
