Important advice on wills

Hi All.
After having a conversation with a friend who had recently lost his wife, he advised us strongly to have a will made, apparently his wife didnt, resulting in him having massive problems and great expense also the possibility of him loosing her part of the house.
I followed the advice given on here and went to:
               Pedro Francisco Carpena Sofio
               Teodor Gonzalez No 3
               Tortosa.
Riverside of the indoor market three streets up towards the police station, 1st floor.
He speaks excellent English as does the receptionist, it took us about 45 mins and charged us €36.61 each inc IVA, saying this amount is set by the government and no one should charge any more.
All you need to take is your passport or residencia, nothing else.
If you havent done one yet please do it and dont keep putting it off as we did, we all think it will never happen to us.
                                    Terry.

We are due to sort out our wills in the next few weeks, could you  confirm that we don't need to bring details of the house or our NIE numbers.

Many thanks for a very useful posting

Hi Debbie.
He took our NIE number as he took all our details from our residencia card. all he needs is your address here, if you have NIE no then take it, first names of children and a substitute/s if you should both die together, he also needs to know your maiden name, and any ex partners names, the only paper work you need is your passport or residencia card.
He will also give you a copy in English.
He will explain that this is only for property or assets in Spain.

Debbie,

Whenever we do anything that involves bureaucracy out here we always take copies of absolutely everything, especially NIE.  Never leave home without it!
