Yes, we had same problem here, so had to have a bigger dish installed a couple of weeks ago. Also a few friends have aswell.
No problems now, even when it rained the other week!

Thanks for replies - does it matter what postcode you enter during set-up ? Or does that simply set your "home" region ?

Never seen the requirement to enter a postcode.  You just align the dish accurately with the satellite and download all the channels then delete the ones you don't want.  All the regions will be there.

I have a Humax HD box in the UK and you have to enter a valid postcode during setup, I entered it incorrectly the first time and it bounced me back to enter again.

I just looked up this page for Humax setup and you're right.
http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/humaxfoxsat.html
Don't know why that should be necessary.  If it rejected your incorrect one it must have a stored database I presume.
If you intend using it out here, I'd just put in a valid UK postcode and then look at what it says on the page at the link about setting up other non Freesat channels.  There's no way that the box can know where it's physically located.

We use a FreeSat here and it works well.  Setting the postcode simply gets that region's version of BBC1 or ITV etc relevant to the postcode.  Please note that the Humax box requires a pre-amp in the form of a cheap satellite decoder from Lidl whereas the cheap and cheerful Grundig box seems to be OK without this.  As with  all satellite TV here the bigger the dish the better.  Size matters... so strap Jodrell Bank to your house in a wind shadow if you can.

A set top digi box.  Freesat is just a collection of channels carried on the same satellite as Sky.

Astra 2 at 28.8 degrees. You can find which way on www.dishpointer.com but a small variation can make a big difference!  I align/realign dishes if it's of interest.

If you're not confident about aligning the dish I'd strongly reccomend seeking Nigel's assistance because the LND will probably also need tweaking for optimum reception and the cable and connections are important as well.
