Hi i need some advice about the correct electrical trip to use currently all we have is an extension lead connected to a generator out side with no trips or fuses can anyone tell me what would be the best way to tackle this i would like to install a trip in an out building and hard wire to the generator.  in the house we only run lights and a television and a small travel hairdrier so our consumption is not very high. Thanks j

Hi as well as our generator having a mains circuit breaker I have a surface mount box and some spare breakers I would imagine that you don't need anything more than about 6 amps if you want an RCD, (stops you getting an electric shock!!) then they sell them at Blascos Fereteria
