Is it possible to buy a freeview box that records, for satellite? I've seen lots for terrestrial tv but not satellite. If so where can I buy one- it would be nice to have one for Xmas tv.

The best bit of kit for the job is the Humax Foxsat HD.  It comes in three disk sizes, 320GB, 500GB and 1 TB.  It gives you HD reception (of the channels that are transmitted in HD) and has twin inputs which allows the watching of one channel whilst recording another.  You may not find them on sale in Spain as there's not much call for them but Nigel can probably help.

Hi
Free-view is through an Ariel and Freesat is via your Dish. The best Freesat recorder at the moment is the Samsung. To help you decide and help with everything telly here in Spain/Catalonia Please have a look at the two sites below.  Wink  You can buy one on ebay and they will post it to Spain here is one below.

Do what you like.  I was merely trying to think of a way round Tarayoles's desire to be able to record TV over Xmas without spending more money.

If you already had a VCR it should be possible to record via a scart lead (but only the channel you're tuned to).
