Hello folks

Just signed up on this forum to gain some insights and may be contribute some useful info down the road.
We'll be moving to Ampolla in April and look forward to enjoy our new digs and the Costa Dorada weather.

We just got our NIE #'s via email from the Consulate in Zurich, it was an easy, painless process..filled out the application, paid some money(like 30 some bucks a piece) and 3 weeks later..voila.
I enjoy motorcycling, cooking and am planning to start brewing my own beer once I'm settled in Ampolla. For now I am just having fun buying beer brewing equipment and gadgets that allows me to prep batches of 50 liters at the time.
Looking forward to meet some of the characters  Roll Eyes on here in real life encounters.

If this post is in the wrong section I'm sure the forum gods are going to move it to the appropriate subtopic.

Until then
Alfred Cool

Welcome aboard Alfred.  The weather should be warming up by April.  Don't know if there are any other folk from Switzerland on here (not that I know of).  Well done with the NIE's.  Sounds like it was easier than getting them here.
The brewing sounds interesting !!
Just shout if you want any help or opinions (which will be varied)  Wink

I hear ya...
and I am sure the circle of friends will expand easily Grin; not that making a friend just because of ample beer supply is necessarily a good thing...after all for real friendship other criteria should prevail. Wink

Thanks for the warm welcome!
There's a bunch of Swiss living in Ampolla; assume they're not to be found on this forum because of the language barrier. It's a distinct advantage to possess English skills good enough to understand some of the quirky expressions and word play of native English speaking folks no matter where they come from. Wink

I should have warned you Brewnut that there's a few nutters on here, no names no pack drill, (another one to get your English skills around).  Cheesy
Perhaps you'll be another ?  Smiley

Hi Brewnut and welcome,
One of my neighbours in the Coll D'lalba is Swiss and from Zurich but has very little English, both speak fluent German, Spanish, Catalan and Italian though.
