Hi gang!
Does anyone know where to buy relatively cheap baked beans please? I object to paying nearly a euro a tin for Heinz and I'm not enamored(that's for pondgirl and co Wink ) of brands anyway.

If we are going to Leroy Merlin in Tarragona then we take the opportunity of stocking up on beans at Lidl.  Closest tasting to Heinz that we can find.

I know Lidl in Amposta, Tortosa and Vinaros all stocked them at one point. This eventually dwindled to Vinaros but even they stopped stocking them last year. I happen to be up Tarragona way in a few days so I'll check it out. Many thanks for the info.

Well we have certainly bought them in the C.C. Lidls in Tarragona this spring so hope they are still there.  It might also be worth checking out the one on the N340 in Cambrils on the way through as they certainly used to stock them.  Good Luck

Lidl in Vinaros have stopped selling them.
However, we can now get them from Consum in Vinaros.
They stock their own brand as well as Heinz.
They also sell Wensleydale cheese, cadburys drinking chocolate

A Euro (£0.84p) at todays exchange rate is not bad. They are only a few pence cheaper than this in the UK now!

Hi gang
Sorry I didn't update this. I scored some beans at Lidl in Tarragona for 53cents a tin. I'll follow up on the  vinaros lead next time we are down that way. The 48 tins I got should last several months.

Ps I do object to paying a euro when I know other places have them for this price.

As with most goods in Spain that price is still nearly double,as Heinz Branston etc are 50 pence a tin in UK.

Sorry, but since when has 53 cents a tin been double 50p a tin.  I think someone needs to go back to school.

My mistake Tony, they are only 33 pence,or 38.61 cent a tin in Lidl for Heinz and less for own brand.
So nearly one third price of Catalooonya !

If Bruixot paid 53 cents a tin, your prices are not a third of what we pay in Catalonia.  Get your sums right.
