I heard today that there is a ban on using chain saws
and strimmers.
In fact any type of machinery that could create a spark.
This is because of the dry conditions and risk of fires.

Well it's certainly nothing our Agents Rural know about.  That would basically be telling farmers that thy cannot work their fincas.  Chainsaws are only going to create sparks if they hit rocks or metal I'd have thought, and you don't find them in trees.  Still, I'll check with the adjuntament tomorrow because the Catalans like having surprise rules.

I meant to add that 'anything that can cause a spark' covers internal combustion engines and hammers. Sad

A farmer has been  arrested for accidentally starting a fire while using his baler.www ccma.cat. There are two large fires going at the moment in Catalunya.

All that you say is logical (and I agree), but perhaps the previous post proves anything can happen ?
