Hi Tony,
We spoke to Dr.Banque in Xerte last week, and he told us that a young lady doctor would be taking over from him and that she does speak English.
Hope this helps, and maybe you won't need to look for a new doctor elsewhere.

Thanks Rita.  It was a young lady doctor that I saw today and she definitely did not speak English and she also told me that I should use the doctor in Alfara (who only speaks Catalan).  Suppose she could be a locum until another arrives.

Nobrot there is an English speaking male dentist in the practice at the reaf of Lidl's.

Tony,
But you are both studying Spanish!
All the doctors speak a degree of English but choose not to. They would not be able to attend medical conferences otherwise, etc. where the common language is English. Besides alot of their final text books are in English and are not translated. Furthermore, all the medical journals  and updates are circulated in English.

The doctor in Aldover speaks quite good English and understands it very well too. He is  a jovial guy.

Failing that Tony I can recommend a very good vet who speaks English...lol

There is a great deal of difference between studying Spanish and being able to understand what a doctor is saying to you !!

There was a rumour going round that the new lady doctor in Xerta was only temporary as the doctor's surgery at Aldover was closing and the Aldover doctor was moving to Xerta.  Last week I asked her in person and she confirmed she was there permanently, so that clears that one up.  If anyone needs help with translation I'd be happy to help as I live in Xerta.  You can contact me through this forum.
