Well, actually, depending on where you are standing, and at which star you are looking, it's pretty accurate.

Take almost ANY road in Cataluña that heads west and keep heading west. You'll arrive in Aragon. Apart from a very small bit in the far North, Aragon borders with the whole of Cataluña and a fair chunk of Valenciana (which borders Cataluña to the south). Its capital is Zaragosa and principal cities are Teruel and Huesca. Caspe (which gets mentions on here for the 'wonderful' fishing is also in Aragon. It is actually bigger in land area than Cataluña.

Probably the closest town (of any size) to Tortosa is Calaciete which you can get to by following the Gandesa road towards Zaragosa.

I'm not too good at history, what number was she?

Aragon must have been a bit grim if she left there and travelled to Merrie England....................ummmmm.

I thought the same as you Rob, Catherine of Aragon.

According to my Spanish friend, it was just a title, something like our own Price Charles not coming from Wales.

Well Cathrine didn't leave Aragon because she couldn't get any planning permissions for her new castle!

She was Henry's first wife and he had her in tow for twenty four years which surprised me , and yes Jools, the lady actually came from Alcara De Henares which is near Madrid and the name(Aragon) was in token only, just like our......................heir to the throne(Wales), who is busy at the moment, talking to his trees.
So endeth my first history lesson.....................

And another lesson:

She was born in Alcalá de Henares and the Aragon part was not 'just a title'. She was member of the House of Trastámara. Her great-grandfather was the first Castillian king of Aragorn after 500 years of Catalan domination by the Counts of Barcelona. The House of Trastámara ruled over of Aragon until all the Iberian kingdoms where united to Spain.

Knowing this, it seems to me that the family of Catherine is in fact the cause building regulations in Aragon are not the same as in Catalunya  Grin
