At around 3.30 this afternoon we noticed a huge black mass in the sky, (didn't seem to be clouds) and the sun was a bright orange colour, trying to come through it all.
Havn't seen any ash or smelt smoke today.
We are near Tortosa.

Awful awful situation for the people of Valencia.

Two helicopters crashed in separate incidents whilst fighting the fire in Valencia. in Eastern Spain they crashed on Monday afternoon, local media reported.

The pilot of one helicopter, whose identity is still not known, is dead. The pilot was under the employ of the Brigades of Wild fire Reinforcement from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment.

The causes of both crashes are still unidentified. There are reports the helicopter, which was working on the area of Cortes de Pallas in Valencia, crashed while it was filling up with water next to marshlands in nearby La Forata.

The second helicopter crashed while it was working in Corte de Pallas in Valencia. Both the pilot and copilot on the second Helicopter were suffered serious injuries and were subsequently transferred to hospital.

Heartfelt condolences to the dead and injured and their families.

This is really terrible, one person dead, others injured.
Those poor people who's lives are at risk, fighting fires, and their families at home worrying if they will ever get home again safely.
Also I feel for the people having to leave their homes, and possessions behind, while the fires continues to burn.
