Anyway there I was in my flat Friday afternoon at approximately
4.30,when I heard a crash,i didn't take a lot of notice,but out of curiosity
I looked out of my balcony window.my car was at an angle ,now I know
When I parked it I was not drunk ,on looking out of my balcony I was greeted
With the sight of a trailer full of olives kissing ,no snugging my car between
The wheel and headlight.i saw the tractor driver backing up to move the
Trailer and shouted at him that's my car ,after ,3 attempts he heard.
His initial reaction and I couldn't believe it, he just shrugged his shoulders!!!!!
Now I race down there obviously annoyed, and the tractor driver just
Carried on ,now I am thinking he is going to clear off.
I asked for his name,i just got ignored,i then said I will phone the police,
Fortunately my Spanish neighbour came out ,and my son was there now.
He wanted to move the trailer ,but he wouldn't co operate with me ,
So I stood between trailer and tractor,i told my son to take photos of
All details.anyway I let him move the trailer through my Spanish neighbour
Translating ,as he moved the trailer ,I told him to take it easy as the
Bumper was being pulled as well,he was either deaf, not got hearing aid in or just ignored me .
Lucky the bumper stayed where it was.
In the meantime his wife turned up ,and said via my son that you English
Get so stressed ,which I turned round and said ,it was a good 15 mins now
That her husband hadn't even said sorry, much to my amazement he
Turned round and shouted sorry at me.
Anyway we swapped insurance details and he then put the trailer on
The back of his tractor,i did notice the pin was short,he then came
Back and said we will go to the insurance agent.
We walked to his house and waited by the garage for him to get his
Car out ,on reversing his car out he nearly ran his wife over but I pulled
Her out of the way,got in his car.
The first words he said and this is the truth , DON'T WORRY about
Seatbelts ,but we put them on ,just as well,he sped down the road across a
Junction ,but we managed to get to insurance agents in one piece.
So we filled in paperwork,on going out he offered us a lift home,
Even thou it was a light drizzle and only t shirts on we opted to walk home it was a lot safer!!!!
So can anyone tell me if this is the norm?
Am I unreasonable in asking for an apology, having had his
Trailer embedded in my car?
If he had said sorry straight away ,I would have said don't worry
It's only an accident,no one hurt and helped him with his trailer
And why are so many driver's here have split personality when some of
Then get behind a wheel ?
So beware if u see a trailer going up a hill full up ,sit well back.
Lucky enough no body was hurt, but perish the thought if it had hit
Someone,a recipe for a serious accident.
Has anyone had a similar incident ?
Many thanks

Chapter 3  (Advice for others)

Nilly. If you are fully comp your policy should state a solicitor service etc and they should be doing the running around not you. All you should provide is the evidence gleaned at the scene witnesses other driver and vehicle details together photos taken of both vehicles either by phone or camera in situ.road signs etc. You would be surprised what happens when they have left the scene with a little scratch and weeks later you get a claim for new wings , Bumpers and a respray.  Smiley Did he show you his driving licence ? if any police turned up get their details as they would have to do a report. You can also use your phone to record any admissions by the other party as to who caused the accident. These things happen so quickly and apart from the shock and vehicles getting moved away from point of impact etc it is best to get the scene on film asap. I am sure Sammy will look after you and hope your vehicle is repaired as soon as.  Wink  At the end of the day you can never have enough evidence you can always disregard that which is not required, however you can have too little and once the scene is cleared that evidence has gone forever.I am just adding this chapter nilly to help others.  Embarrassed

Some further help I know it's from the UK but there are snippets of info

Chapter 4,
Many thanks for your help it's greatly appreciated.
Yes ,I have photos .
But it was the attitude that annoyed me .
He just shrugged his shoulders !!!
I asked for his name ,just got ignored.!!!
I had to ask for an apology!!!!
If he said sorry at the start ,I would have helped with his trailer ,
And said don't worry we all have accidents,

And yes I have every faith in Sammy ,I generally receive very good
Service from the shops, cant really fault it ,
It was his attitude thou in general that really annoyed me
Taking car in Wednesday for estimate ,when it goes in
As a Opel corsa ,I might get a ,BMW  in replacement , dream on
Best wishes

Well final chapter
Took car to Sergio palleres , bodywork and spray
Place on the way to l amettla ,four garages on the right hand side.
Went down on Friday ,25 nov late afternoon, expected to wait
Maybe one week or more to have work done ,he booked car
In for Monday ,28th ,said it could be three days, ready Thursday am.
On seeing car ,and a close inspection wot a first class job.
Went to get car keys, but didn't get the Audi I was eyeing up!!!!.
Only problem now I have one very shiny new panel and
Approximately 10 panels that are dull.
But well impressed with his work.

Just something that happened to me some time ago.\
as I was driving through Aldea on a rainy day apparently
somebody thought he was Sterling Moss and overtook me
he had to pass so close that he took of my sidemirror
I took his matricula and sent it to my insurance company
RACC within 2 weeks everything was settled and paid.
I am not fully comp.
I think it is very important to have a good insurance company
and never try to solve things yourself  as the language
problem is very often a big problem.

We aren't the only ones
A person I know was in mercondona  all parked up,
When some delightful person ran into the back of her car,
I believe in some sort of pick up,done quite a bit of damage,
And drove off, luckly enough there were friends and witnesses
Outside in the car park and took his number plate!!!!
