Carob prices

Have heard from 2 sources.( 1 being the Moli D'oli ).....18 cents a kilo,thats a 3rd less than last year and there's not as many on the trees.Can anybody beat that ???!!!!

Looks like the Aston will have to wait till next year.

We went into Sol D'Ebre yesterday, Sign on the Till said 20 centimos a kg

20 cents - we dream of 20 cents - not even taking them here in Camarles, according to our neighbour.

Ah well - less to do at the moment - maybe leave it 'til December when thay are all down, and see if the price improves.
If not, then store them 'til next year.

I have now found out why the carob prices have dropped!! Cry Cry

Like Sainsbuggers Morrisons and Tesco, all major users negotiate down their buy prices every year Angry Angry

And McDonalds is no exception to the rule, so this year they must be buying their Carob Gum from Spain

Vanilla Triple Thick ® Shake Ingredients:
Vanilla Reduced Fat Ice Cream: Milk, sugar, cream, nonfat milk solids, corn syrup solids, mono-and diglycerides, guar gum, dextrose, sodium citrate, artificial vanilla flavor, sodium phosphate, carrageenan, disodium phosphate, carob gum, vitamin A palmitate.

That sounds really healthy !!
