Watching BBC iPlayer

Just found a solution to watching iPlayer over here. www.tellyabroad.com seems to do the trick. Works very well and in high definition over my 1MB Iberbanda connection. Also does other replay services. They do a 3 day trial and then it's $30 a year (yes dollars!). Checked it for 'malware' and it looks clean.  Smiley

We have found a free one called Expat Shield, and it seems to work better than Telly Abroad.
Maybe give it a try?

Just downloaded the Expat Shield thingy and it works fine, but doesn't improve the quality of the tv programmes though. Hey but at least I wont miss 'strictly and x factor'....or will I????? Cheesy
Incidently mcAfee says that the expat download is absolutely fine Smiley

Beware the Ex Pat Sheild, it does in fact enable you to watch BBC iPlayer but, when I tried uploading some photos to Facebook and Yahoo mail it failed also couldn't get into photobucket , the task bar overrides your normal search engine and suggests hacking sites to steal peoples identity, so I have uninstalled it from my computer!!

Expat Shield works well performance wise. Sadly it repeatedly tries to install a trojan virus and seems to be part of a botnet setup to get your PC to send spam.

Last night I kept on getting porn coming up whilst using expat shield. Also i could not use my trading platform for work, so now its been uninstalled.
I will never now know who wins X factor, please dont bother telling me.
ps it was very good porn Wink

I had trouble with expat shield too! I did enjoy the new series of Top Gear (so far) but not all the porn ads that kept popping up.

A tip might be to use google chrome as a web browser as you can keep expat shield in one tab and not affect other tabs (windows) which you have open - this seems to work well for me!

Hi all,
My small Family and I have just moved to Tortosa from Kent in the UK and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone.

I saw this thread that was started a year ago and wondered if the tellyabroad website has proved to work safe and well?

Any advice on getting access to the BBC I-Player etc would be appreciated!

Thanks guys!  Cool

I've moved over to 'my-private-network' which costs £5 per month. Been using it for about 6 months now and its very good, no ads or malware. https://www.my-private-network.co.uk/

Its quite easy really....you give them 5 quid and they take all your passwords and bank details whilst you are watching repeats of Eastenders ( or in your case Coronation Street)
not forgetting Antiques Roadshow series 1 to 83365471.
I personnally don't have the time to watch uk telly as apparently I am always upside-down in a wheelie bin. Revenge will be sweet Nobby, Ritababy and Tony  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Nobrot, it's called a VPN. It gives you a link from here to their servers in the UK. They than pass on the data as if it's coming from them.  BBC then think it's a UK viewer. It's easy enough to setup and you should end up with an icon on your desktop. Click that and it logs you in. Then you can run iPlayer etc.

Many thanks for your advice on this PlanesPete, much appreciated!
I was also wondering if anyone has actually purchased a sat dish to receive all English TV? I guess this would be pretty expensive?
