Bet the 'dry' canal isn't dry at the moment!
Hope all members and users on the Forum get things back to normal soon, and the damage isn't too bad.

Yesterday morning we couldn't get out because the lane had disappeared to be replaced by boulders and gravel and the aftermath of what looked like a tsunami but thanks to our Catalan neighbour getting swiftly on the phone the relevant authorities had been and restored order by late yesterday evening. Seriously impressed!

Now that we've had some better weather and things are drying out, can some clever person out there explain how much rain we had. I do not understand litres per metre squared!!! Need to know in English, and is there a formula to work it out. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's a bit confused.

10 Litres per sq metre  is 1 centimetre of rainfall, so 1000 litres = 1 metre of rainfall.
Up my mountain we had 8 inches = 20 centimetres = 200 litres per sq metre = 44 gallons per 10.7 sq feet

Hi All,
Another mathematical way of working out rainfall is when your wellies are full of rain water its effing wet !!!! Hope this explains it to all you lot that are not good at maths.
